The short version.
We don’t use any third-party cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site trackers. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, nothing that follows you around the web. Our analytics is first-party and cookieless— built by us, run on our own servers. Because nothing here needs your consent under UK law, there’s no cookie banner to click through.
Our analytics — first-party, no cookies.
We want to know the basics — which pages people read, what’s working, where visitors come from — so we built our own analytics instead of renting someone else’s. It sets no cookies and stores nothing that persistently identifies you:
- A per-tab session id lives in your browser’s
sessionStorageand is deleted the moment you close the tab. It just stops one visit being counted as several. - A daily-rotating visitor countuses a hash that resets every day, so there’s no permanent identifier and no way to track you across days or sites.
- No raw IP addresses are stored, and none of this is shared with or sold to anyone.
Under UK PECR this doesn’t require consent — but we’re spelling it out so you know exactly what’s running.
Essential cookies.
The only actual cookies on this site are first-party essential ones, and for a normal visit reading the site there are effectively none. If you’re a team member logging into the private admin area, a first-party session cookie keeps you signed in. That’s it — it doesn’t track you and isn’t shared with anyone.
No advertising, no third parties.
We don’t run ad-network pixels, retargeting tags, or social trackers. If we ever add a tool that sets cookies or shares data with a third party, we’ll update this page and put a proper consent banner back in place first. Right now, there’s nothing to opt out of.
How to manage cookies.
There’s little to manage here, but you’re always in control:
- Browser controls — every modern browser lets you block, delete, or restrict cookies and site storage. See aboutcookies.org for per-browser instructions.
- Opt out of our analytics entirely — clearing your site storage resets the session id and daily hash; blocking storage stops it recording anything.
- Email us at tyree@sundrop.uk if you want a hand.
Changes.
If we ever add tools that use cookies or third-party tracking, we’ll update this page and re-prompt for consent where the law requires it.
